For sale is a Tartan 3000 sailboat (vintage 1984), a 30′ sloop I’ve owned since 2019. I’ve used this boat for daysailing and local cruising trips 1-2 weeks long around the Tampa Bay, Clearwater, and Sarasota. I have even been able to work remotely from the boat during these periods. The previous owner (pre 2019) used the boat primarily for racing. The boat is in sailing/cruising condition and all of her systems are functional thanks to the boat being used and maintained regularly. The boat is slipped at Pasadena Marina and the slip can likely be carried over to a new owner. Asking . Email me if interested. If the post is still up, the boat is still available.
Some features and relevant stats for this boat are below:
-LOA: 30′.
-Displacement: 8,400 lbs.
-Keel Type: Lead keel with centerboard. 3.3′ draft with board up, 7.25′ draft with board down.
-Roller furling headsail.
-Sails (7 in total): one mainsail (with 2 reef points), one 110 jib, two 135 genoas, one 155 genoa, 2 spinnakers. All sails are in good working condition and some.
have been used only lightly.
-Wheel steering and raymarine autopilot.
-All lines are led to the cockpit.
-All running rigging is in new or workable condition, with more spares onboard.
-Engine: Universal M18 (diesel), 1,750 hrs.
-Hearth transmission rebuilt in 2019. Prop shaft, cutlass bearing, and stuffing box tube also replaced in 2019.

-Delta anchor (22 lb) on an bow roller with 15′ of stainless chain plus 135′ of rode. Backup Fortress anchor on the stern.
-Canvas bimni and dodger (new bimni installed in summer 2022).

-2 AGM house batteries (115 AH each).
-Shore power input with battery charger.
-1000 watt inverter.
-180 watt rigid solar panel on top of bimni and solar charge controller.
-Ice box with refrigeration. The battery capacity and solar panel have typically been enough to keep the fridge running on weeklong trips.
-Pressure water in the galley, head sink, and cockpit shower. Additional manual footpump in galley.
-Pressurized alcohol stove.
-Stern rail mounted propane grill.
-Hot water heater powered either by heated engine coolant or shore power.
-44 gal freshwater tank.
-Manual head with 16 gal holding tank.
-Automatic bilge pump and fixed manual backup in the cockpit.
This boat is from 1984 and it has some issues typical of a boat of that vintage. I’ve listed them below:
-There is some soft deck core at the bow.
-A couple of the bow stanchions bases are cracked from corrosion.
-The boom has a slight bend towards its end. Whatever did this occurred before I owned the boat. The performance consequences are mostly negligible but theoretically prevents fully flattening the mainsail when sailing without a reef in.
-There is a gap at the front of the keel. This gap was present when I bought the boat and its dimensions have remained unchanged over the course of my ownership.
-The boat could use a bottom job.
-The gelcoat is chalky in some areas from oxidization.
